Re: ⚽ Liverpool v West Ham - Official Match Thread

It’s all about opinions what makes your opinion so special?

Do you really think people are basing their judgement of him on one game?

He didn’t run at all, he jogged. There was a token jog to a defender who had the ball then a token jog when it was passed around the defence until they moved forward and he could just stop trying to make it look like he’s making an effort.

Any potential valid point you have is eliminated by you calling people clowns for disagreeing with you. It’s you who is throwing their toys out of the pram to be honest.

All the average fan wants from Haller is 60/70 minutes where he works his nuts off and leaves everything on the pitch. Instead he barely broke sweat and his kit didn’t need cleaning. If you think that’s good enough from a £45m signing then that’s your prerogative. It’s not even good enough from a free transfer.

Exile I agree with a lot of that, he wasn't lazy he was absolutely fucked at the end.. He just seems so far below what's required fitness wise, which is shocking.

Antonio gets on to some bad passes because of his athleticism, dome of those Haller had no chance.

Capitol Man (and others) - yes, last season we just about deserved a point up there, but not yesterday. The only thing we did well for almost the whole match was defend. Given our gross lack of attacking endeavour, no way did we deserve a point.

I struggle to see how Haller has ever effectively played up on his own.

Re: ⚽ Liverpool v West Ham - Official Match Thread
I agree with some of the comments about Haller on here, but some are absolute bollocks.

He was never worth£45m - agreed.
He's not as good as Antonio - of course he's not, so don't expect him to be. Name me a PL side whose second choice striker is as good as their first choice.
He doesn't run - absolute piffle. Watch it back and tell me he didn't run. Admittedly he's not the quickest, but in terms of pressing and closing, what he did was 95% the same as what Antonio would have done. The only difference is that Antonio occasionally uses that extra bit of acceleration he has, when he thinks he's in with a chance, to catch out an opponent.
He accomplished nothing yesterday - apart from a few decent flicks and layoffs, agreed. But hang on. I would say he accomplished at least 80% of what Antonio would have done under the circumstances. True, he doesn't have that special ability that Antonio has to make something out of nothing, but we only usually see that from Antonio once or twice in a match. Also consider how rarely we were in Liverpool's half. Consider that he was NEVER on the receiving end of a decent cross or pass in their box, and that was NOT because he didn't take up any decent positions.
Overall I would say that he didn't do much right but he didn't do much wrong either. Some of you clowns need to have a word with yourselves and take a more mature and balanced approach to watching games instead of throwing your toys out of the pram.
Sure, there are question marks about him, but it would be insane to ditch him based on yesterday's game.

Last two games we’ve deserved at least a point up there.

Progress of a sort I suppose.

The way Salah squealed and was poleaxed I’m surprised he managed to drag himself back to his feet inside 10 minutes to take the penalty. Also, if I was out in town and needed backup I would rather have 1 rugby player then 10 footballers, they would all fall down at the first touch.

Poll: Did Mohamed Salah dive to win a penalty vs West Ham?
I Voted Yes.

Ogbonna was fouled early in the build up to their second goal.
Someone took him out as he tried to clear the ball before it went out wide to the right.

Re: ⚽ Liverpool v West Ham - Official Match Thread
We seem to be inordinately unfortunate when it comes to penalties.
Must have quite a few owing when these things EVEN THEMSELVES OUT as they say.
Still waiting for a pen for us like yesterdays ... attacker who is virtual stationary gets a tap on his ankle and throws himself to the ground. Struggling to think of the last one like that we got.
Anyone?

Could have had pens against Arsenal (defender bats away looping header with his arm) & Man City (Garcia cleans out Antonio) & then Salah's dive.
3 decisions , all against us with the suspicion that if the teams involved in each incident were reversed they would STILL go against us.

Cant really argue about the penalty but the ref should have booked Salah for overacting Has a ref ever booked someone for this?

Neithe rod their goals should have stood yesterday. They are a disgusting cheat scum side and the refs fall for it every time.

Football is shit these days.

Re: ⚽ Liverpool v West Ham - Official Match Thread
So the refs don’t have a meeting on the Thursday prior to Liverpool and Man U games and agree how many penalties, free kicks etc they are going to be given.

They problem with yesterday was that Moyes tried to play a system which was set up for Antonio not Hailer and he failed to change it when after the first 30 minutes everyone could see it wasn’t working.

Masuaku is not quickest thinker (or the most rational - see spitting) unfortunately.

He also crossed poorly a lot of the time yesterday, along with a few others. Lost in the (justified) Haller criticism.

Cygnet I think they are guided by FIFA and like I say that now makes diving a part of the game as it has been in Latino countries for decades. Cheats prosper nowadays.

Anyone know if there is specific reference to simulation in the rules these days ? Wonder what the wording is?

Re: ⚽ Liverpool v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Do Referees do any homework at all. Something along the lines of typing 'Salah diving' into Google brings up any number of gifs of the stubby little twat tripping over feathers. Yet the clueless pricks give pens and free kicks over and over again?
